Carroll: After first loss, Hawks players 'quiet and serious ... we don't take these easily'

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Monday that one day after the team lost their first game of the season to the San Diego Chargers, the Hawks players were focused on correcting the mistakes and getting back to winning.

"They're quiet and serious," Carroll said of the players' mood. "We don't take these (losses) easily. We know there are high expectations here."

Despite the loss to the Chargers, Carroll said, the Seahawks "had plenty of chances" to win the game -- but failed to make the plays needed to turn the game around.

In addition, he said, "I thought (Chargers QB) Philip Rivers played near-perfect football."
