SEATTLE -- The Seahawks have officially placed running back Marshawn Lynch on the reserved/retired list, according to Seahawks.com.

Beast Mode first indicated his retirement back in February in a tweet, showing green cleats hanging from a cable.

In six seasons with the Seahawks, Lynch rushed for 6,347 yards and 57 touchdowns.

He came to Seattle in a 2010 trade after the Hawks sent fourth and fifth round picks to Buffalo. That turned out to be a pretty awesome deal for Seattle.

“He's not carrying the football, he's carrying his team,” offensive line coach/assistant head coach Tom Cable said last year, according to Seahawks.com. “That's who he is. That's what he does.”

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said of Lynch in 2012: "I don't know if anything is more symbolic than what we've done with Marshawn and him playing the way he's played and him being the guy he is. I think he really is the key element to putting this thing together from the attitude perspective at least."
