Family of Henrietta Lacks celebrates landmark settlement

In a landmark settlement between the family of Henrietta Lacks and biotech giant Thermo Fisher, they accuse the company of commercializing cells taken without her consent more than seven decades ago. It all started at Johns Hopkins hospital where Lacks was being treated for cervical cancer. It was there that doctors first noticed the unique properties of her so-called HeLa cells.
