U.S. ramps up transportation and security plans ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup

Federal officials say they are preparing for more than 6 million World Cup visitors by boosting air, rail and road capacity and deploying additional security personnel, including teams focused on human trafficking prevention. The U.S. men’s national team learns its group Friday, with Seattle set to host a June 19 match at Lumen Field.
