Northbound SR 99 First Avenue Bridge closure snarls Seattle traffic
All northbound lanes of the SR 99 First Avenue Bridge are closed through 8 p.m. Wednesday as WSDOT crews install steel plates to stabilize the span. The work follows earlier lane closures due to cracks in the bridge deck and is part of preparations ahead of increased traffic expected for the FIFA World Cup.
