Mortgage rates rise above 6% amid Iran war market jitters
Mortgage rates edged higher last week as financial markets reacted to uncertainty tied to the war in Iran. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rose to about 6.11%, up from 6% the week before, while the 15-year fixed rate increased to about 5.5%, according to Freddie Mac.
