Local leaders call for accountability after Portland border agent shooting, ICE arrests
Federal officials say a Border Patrol agent shot two suspected members of a Venezuelan gang during a targeted vehicle stop in Portland, alleging the driver tried to run over officers. Oregon’s attorney general has opened an investigation. Washington Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Emily Randall are calling for accountability, while Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson said the city has limited authority over federal agents but is working with the police chief, city attorney and immigrant rights groups on options to keep residents safe.
