Officials warn flood threat could rise again as state boosts levee protection
Gov. Bob Ferguson said the risk of river flooding has eased for now but could increase again by late December as another atmospheric river threatens Washington. The state has mobilized National Guard members, added swift-water rescue teams and created a levee breach strike team, while local leaders urge residents in flood-prone areas to stay alert and report signs of levee damage.
