Washington State Ferries to add 3% fee on card payments starting March 1

Washington State Ferries will begin charging a 3% fee on all card transactions starting March 1, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The fee will apply to fares, no-show charges and carpool permits. Officials say the surcharge is intended to help cover the cost of processing card payments.
