Senate advances war powers measure after Maduro capture
The Senate moved forward with a war powers resolution after U.S. special forces captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro without prior congressional notification. A bipartisan group of senators supported the measure to limit further military action in the region, as the Pentagon says no U.S. troops are currently in Venezuela but forces remain positioned nearby and debate grows over U.S. interests, including oil.
