Carlos Mercado: High-violent offender missing in Chelan County

WANTED IN CHELAN COUNTY -- Carlos Mercado has a felony warrant for failing to report to the Department of Corrections. He is classified as a “high violent” offender.  He is currently on supervision for a Domestic Violence Court Order Violation. Officers say when Mercado was serving time in Chelan County Jail, he made more than a dozen phone calls to his girlfriend -- who is protected in the court order.

Officers say he has a history of violating this valid No Contact Order, which places the victim at risk. Mercado is known to carry firearms and has a previous Unlawful Possession Of Firearm conviction. Officers say he's a known gang member with a horrible meth addiction. He knows he has a warrant, so officers believe he is a risk to Law Enforcement. Officers think he could be traveling between Wenatchee and Spokane. He's 28 years old and his street name is "Duende".
