Feeling like summer!
One word -- sunscreen! Keep it handy today and this weekend. Also, drink lots of water. And enjoy what will be the warmest weekend of the year so far.
High pressure aloft will dominate today and through the weekend for sunny skies and warm temps. We'll top out close to 80 today and get into the mid 80s over the weekend. Some of our foothills communities and perhaps Olympia southward it could nudge 90. Monday, the sun continues to shine and we'll top out around 80. Tuesday through Thursday, Nature's air conditioning returns with some morning cloud, but nice afternoon sun, and it'll be cooler, topping out in the more comfortable low-to-mid 70s.
This weekend you may be tempted to jump into our area's waters. Here are the water temps of some major lakes, Puget Sound and the Pacific near Neah Bay. Brrr! Our rivers are fed by snowmelt, and even though we have less of a snowpack than normal, the water is still very cold. Also, rivers are running low, so it is easier to hit debris and rocks. Hypothermia is possible in any of our waterways. And always wear a life vest!
