Police investigating homicide in Tacoma

No suspect has been arrested for the dedly shooting.

A man has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Tacoma's Fern Hill neighborhood on Monday evening. 

Officers were called to the 8600 block of South C St. just before 6 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a man down with multiple gunshot wounds. They tried to save the man's life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Report: Tacoma sees drastic drop in killings, down nearly 40% since 2022

Tacoma is seeing a nearly 40% drop in homicides this year compared to the same time period in 2022.

This appears to be Tacoma's 20th homicide of the year. 

On Wednesday, a 29-year-old was arrested and taken into custody. 

He was booked for first-degree murder.

It's unclear if the victim and suspect knew each other.
