The Mega Millions jackpot has skyrocketed to almost $1 billion after no lottery players matched all six of the winning numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing.

With the next drawing on Friday, Nov. 14, the estimated jackpot is a staggering $965 million, the eighth largest jackpot since the game started in 2002, according to Mega Millions.

Tuesday night’s winning jackpot numbers were white balls 10, 13, 40, 42 and 46, plus the gold Mega Ball 1.
How to play Mega Millions
What you can do:
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The cost for the tickets are $5 each and include a randomly assigned multiplier, multiplying the base prize levels by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X.
Mega Millions explains on its website that half of the proceeds from the sale of each Mega Millions ticket remains in the state where the ticket was sold, where the money supports designated worthy causes and retailer commissions. Mega Millions drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesdays and Fridays.
