Satan says - meet me on the ferry!
SEATTLE -- What kind snacks do you bring to a 1 a.m. satanic celebration on a Washington state ferry route?
Cookies? Chips? The blood of a thousand goats?
The website Worshipsatan.org is calling for all Satanists -- anyone who identifies as Satanic or is respectfully curious about Satanism-- to join like-minded individuals for the monthly "Midnight Cruise" Friday night at 11:45 p.m. on the WSDOT Seattle to Bainbridge ferry.
According to the website, the event is to celebrate the new moon on Astronomical Midnight at 1:08 a.m. The Midnight Cruise includes a social hour and mixer on the way to Bainbridge, and a "Pact with the Devil" on the ride back. The ritual pact with the devil is performed on the upper deck of the ferry at 1:08 a.m.
The purpose of the event, according to the website, is: "Because we are wicked! Hail Satan!"
WSDOT ferry official Marta Coursey said they were not aware a monthly meeting took place on the ferries.
It is unknown how many individuals usually participate in the pact with the devil.
