SNOQUALMIE PASS -- It may be the first day of Winter, but the Summit at Snoqualmie has yet to see the first day of skiing, and the critical holiday season is upon us.

"Obviously, missing the holiday period would be a major blow to us," said Guy Lawrence, marketing director at the resort. "You can't be weak in the knees if you work in this business."

"You have to look at it as a long term proposition."

This will be the latest start to the season in more than a decade.
