SR 520, Tacoma Narrows tolls go up Monday
SEATTLE -- You'll have to pay more to drive over the 520 Bridge and Tacoma Narrows Bridge starting Monday, July 1.
Last month, the Washington State Transportation Committee voted unanimously to approve a 2.5 percent rate hike, effective July 1.
Under the new rates, 520 drivers with the electronic Good to Go pass will pay a peak rate of $3.70. If you pay by mail, it will cost $5.25.
WSDOT says the toll is on track to provide more than $1 billion in funding for the new six-lane replacement bridge which is set to open in 2016.
The WSTC also voted unanimously for a 50 cent hike for Tacoma Narrows Bridge drivers last month.
That means drivers will pay 25 cents more July 1, then add another 25 cents the following summer
Currently it is $4 for drivers who have a Good to Go pass.
For people paying cash it’s $5 and if you pay by mail it costs $6.
