Staying in the 80s, weekend sizzles

Not as hot, but we're still above normal for this time of year. Yesterday we hit 86 in Seattle and 88 in Portland. Normal temp for early July is 75 for Seattle and 79 for Portland. Some areas did get into triple digit territory, though all east of the Cascades. 102 for Pasco and Hanford; 101 in Yakima; 100 Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Walla Walla. According to the National Weather Service, no records fell yesterday in the state.

TODAY we'll see some clouds along the coast and a few inland. Otherwise abundant sunshine for nearly everyone in Western Washington by the afternoon. High west of the Cascades 80-85. RED FLAG WARNING for high fire danger and the breezy conditions in Central Washington. Highs not quite as hot for Central Washington in the mid 90s.

TOMORROW will be a bit hotter than today. Highs 80-85 for the lowlands around the Puget Sound and Seattle. Lots of sunshine too.

THE WEEKEND is getting even hotter still. High temps will be in the 85-90 range for Fri/Sat/Sun. Even hotter if you're headed towards SW Washington towards Portland. Could be in the mid 90s there-- with some muggy conditions too with possible Cascacde t-storms providing some high overcast potentially.

NEXT WEEK still looking very summery. Lots of sunshine, not much for any rain. Highs mostly in 82-85 range for Seattle, a touch warmer for Portland.
