Two dead, two injured in shooting, stabbing at Bellevue apartment
BELLEVUE, Wash. - A domestic disturbance at a Bellevue high-rise apartment complex left two men dead and two others injured Saturday evening.
Bellevue Police said they received frantic 911 calls around 7:30 p.m. Saturday for shots fired and stabbing victims at the Elements Apartment complex on 111th Ave NE in downtown Bellevue.
Police said when they arrived they found one man dead, and another man died on the scene. Two others were injuried and taken to local hospitals.
Detectives said a 41-year-old man from Burien stabbed a family member and two others at the party.
One of the victims, a 21-year-old man from Renton, was stabbed and died. Two others, a 22-year old Bellevue woman and a 24-year-old man from Oregon were stabbed and taken to local hospitals. The Oregan man was armed at the party and shot the suspect who died at the scene.
The female victim has been released from the hospital and the male victim is in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center.
Officials said everyone involved in the incident knew each other. They said there is no threat to the public as the suspect is accounted for and officials have recovered a firearm.
"It's not the normal activity that we see in Bellevue," said Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett.
People living in the apartment were unable to return to their homes during the police investigation.
"You hear sirens go by, and you think that's going downtown, that's going to some other buidling and you find out it's your buidling. It's your floor. It's on your floor. It's down the hall. I don't think I've processed it yet," said Jeff Wei, who lives in the compex where the incident happened.
Police have not released the names of the victims or any information regarding a possible motive.
