SEATTLE -- A 23-year-old woman admitted to police she vandalized the Chambers Bay Golf Course so she wouldn't hurt her girlfriend after a fight, the News Tribune reported.
According to court records, the woman told police she drank five beers and five shots after a quarrel July 27 and then drove to the golf course. She admitted to smashing a gate and causing other damage before a guard stopped her.
The woman's car also had a smashed windshield and extensive body damage, the Tribune reported. Damage to the golf course is estimated to be at least $2,000.
Prosecutors charged the woman with second-degree malicious mischief, DUI and second-degree criminal trespass.
