'Goodwill' thief: Caught on camera stealing purse from woman -- and shoes from needy

WANTED IN SEATTLE -- Washington’s Most Wanted host, David Rose, spoke to the Organized Theft Retail Crime Alliance last year, and asked security managers at stores all over the state to upgrade their cameras, because if they can get a good image of a bad guy – WMW viewers have shown over and over, they can put a name to a face for detectives. In Seattle, a lowlife thief is caught on tape -- red-handed -- stealing from of all places, a ‘Goodwill’ store -- and it's the clearest video of a bad guy we've ever seen! Watch the video for yourself, and listen to Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound break down the crime: “You see a suspect enter the ‘Goodwill’ store. He goes in and does a lot of things. He's moving around, does a lot of shopping around. Picks up a backpack. He fills the backpack, and then he drags that stuff around, and then he decides -- 'that's not good enough' -- so he puts some more stuff in it, drags it around further. The thing you want to do is watch his eyes: Shoppers, when they go into a store, they're looking at merchandise. They're looking at tags. They're looking at sizes -- not him though. He's just picking things up, and constantly looking for someone who may be trying to spot him. He spots a ladies purse at the front of the store. He takes the purse, looks at it, pulls out a wallet, discovers cash. So he starts taking the cash. You'll see in the video where he actually removes the cash. Then he decides -- 'I need some shoes' -- so he goes back to the front of the store, and takes his shoes off. You'll see him walk across in his stocking feet. Then, he puts on the others shoes. They don't fit perfect, but he puts them on anyway. Then, he goes around, drags everything he's stolen back to another area, dumps it under the clothing racks -- including the shoes that he wore in -- takes the money, looks around, and vacates the building."
