Valentine's Day Burglar: Heartless crook shows no love -- even for family dog
WANTED IN ARLINGTON --
A heartless home burglar struck on Valentine's Day -- showing no love even for the family dog -- and it was all caught on camera.
He starts simple enough, knocking on the front door and ringing the doorbell.
Knowing the coast is clear, he heads to the backyard and tries breaking in through a dog door. He doesn't get in. But look what comes out -- the family pooch.
Not much of a guard dog, though, as he wags his tail and is ready to play with the perp.
The crook gives the pup some pets, but then gets annoyed when the dog gets a little too frisky and kicks him away.
Check out what is in the suspect's left hand though -- a brick.
After casing the place a bit more -- and with the dog still standing by -- he walks up to the window and chucks the brick through a window. Now, he's finally in.
"We had an individual who broke into the house. They spent about 30 minutes in the house, it appears," Arlington Police Department's Kristin Banfield said. "They took lots of stuff, electronics, guns, power tools, bicycles, just a lot of things they took off with."
And after loading up the loot into bags and taking off out the front door, he loads it into the homeowner's pickup and steals that, too -- almost running over the dog on the way out.
Arlington police need this guy's name -- and they do not think this is the first homeowner heartbreak this guy has caused.
"We believe that he is connected with a number of other residential burglaries in the Arlington area," Banfield said.
So help detectives identify him before it's your house he's busting into next -- and your dog he's kicking around.
