Seattle weather: icy, slick spots for Monday morning

Watch for icy and slick spots early in the morning. Widespread frost is expected well into the late morning hours until we can get the sun angle high enough to thaw us out.

The Brief

    • Morning low temperatures will range below average this week.
    • Highs will be cooler than usual this week as well.
    • Dry weather continues in Seattle this week, but isolated showers will brush through western Washington on Friday.

SEATTLE - Grab the scarf, gloves and beanie because cold weather is expected to linger in Seattle for much of this upcoming week!

Cold, dry weather is forecast in Seattle for at least the next three days.

Below-normal temperatures are predicted in Seattle the next three days. (FOX 13 Seattle)

This morning, a Cold Weather Advisory was in effect for parts of Puget Sound until 8 a.m. Slightly breezy weather near the Cascades made temperatures feel cooler. Dress in warm layers this week.

Cooler-than-normal weather is expected once again in Seattle on Monday.

Highs will remain below average on Monday afternoon in Seattle, only reaching the low 40s. (FOX 13 Seattle)

You'll notice that morning low temperatures will range below average in the days ahead. However, overnight temperatures will stay above freezing on Friday morning thanks to cloudier skies, helping to insulate the atmosphere at nighttime.

Freezing temperatures and dry weather remain through at least Thursday in Seattle.

A hard freeze is expected in Seattle through Tuesday morning. (FOX13 Seattle)

Highs will be cooler than usual this week as well. Temperatures will reach the low 40s on a daily basis. 

It'll be mostly cloudy today, but partly sunny skies will follow tomorrow. Mainly cloudy skies will return on Thursday and Friday. Brighter, bluer skies are predicted for next weekend. 

Shower-free skies and tranquil weather linger in Seattle for much of this week.

Dry weather continues in Seattle this week, but isolated showers will brush through western Washington on Friday. There may be some minor snow over the mountain passes as well.
