2 upcoming job fairs for those looking for work
TACOMA -- Job seekers can apply for employment at two separate job hiring events this week and next.
State Farm Insurance is looking to fill 500 job openings at their job fair in Tacoma on July 16-17. The company announced job seekers can attend the fair at the Hotel Murano (July 16 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and July 17 8 a.m.-3 p.m.) after filling out an online application. State Farm said candidates will be considered for claim handling and processing careers that focus on customer service.
In Arlington, military veterans can get help finding civilian jobs this weekend at the Arlington Fly-In at the Arlington Municipal Airport. The Federal Office of Reserve mobile "job store" will be set up Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m, the Everett Herald reported. The jobs program known as "Hero 2 Hired" offers veterans a chance to conduct an online job search, write a resume and figure out how their military experience may help them find jobs in the civilian sector. The Hero 2 Hired website is designed to connect veterans with employers committed to hiring vets, the paper reported.
