Crews in position to recover missing farm worker
PIERCE COUNTY -- Rescue crews are working long hours in bitterly cold conditions to recover the body of a missing worker who disappeared when thousands of pounds of grain spilled out of a massive silo at Wilcox Farms in Roy on Monday afternoon.
Several hours after the tragic accident, heavy machinery is slowly being put in place to begin the recovery of the missing man.
Rescue teams say the man had little to no chance of survival as thousands of pounds of grain crushed the man as he tried to escape.
Cranes will hold unstable silos in position while crews vacuum up the massive mountain of grain. Pierce County Rescue officers say they hope to recover the man's body today.
We will have more updates on the recovery later today on Q13Fox News.
