Crews to break ground on SeaTac light rail extension
SEATAC- Crews will break ground Friday on the light rail extension project south of the Sea-Tac International Airport.
The S. 200th link extension includes a 1.6 mile elevated guideway and a station with garage parking, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, a plaza area and public art.
Service is scheduled to begin in late 2016-- the same time rail service from downtown Seattle to the University of Washington begins.
Sound Transit will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony Friday. Governor Jay Inslee and U.S. Senator Patty Murray are expected to attend.
