Van backs into Edmonds pot shop, damages entrance

An Edmonds pot shop is cleaning up after a van backed into the entrance of the store and caused damage Thursday morning.

Before 3 a.m., police responded to an alarm at the Dank's Wonder Emporium on 212th Street Southwest.

An officer nearby got to the scene and found a red minivan parked in front of the business and another car, that appeared to be as a lookout, stopped in the roadway.

Investigators saw broken glass and noticed it was an apparent burglary.

Police said the car drove away and the initial officer followed it to southbound I-5, but the driver took off when the officer tried to stop the car.

The shop shared surveillance video with FOX 13 and it showed someone breaking the store's windows and backing the van into the store.

The van hasn't been located but it was last seen following the officer who was attempting to stop the car.

Police said surveillance video showed two possible suspects and one of them tried to take the ATM but were unsuccessful.

The investigation remains ongoing.
