Husky Helmet Car heads to MOHAI
The 25-year tradition of the UW Helmet Car comes to an end with the car being donated to MOHAI this morning.
SEATTLE -- The beloved Husky Helmet Car was retired Thursday and donated to the Museum of History and Industry.
The Helmet Car gained fame by circling Husky Stadium on a track following every touchdown, field goal or safety as members of the Husky band and cheer squad rode it in celebration.
As part of the $261 million renovation to the stadium, the track around the field was removed and thus ended the 25-year tradition.
