Kids learn how to code with Robot Turtles
SEATTLE-- A new way to teach children computer programming by playing a board game is rocketing through the Kickstarter world.
Robot Turtles is the brainchild of Dan Shapiro, CEO of Google Comparison. The game introduces programming concepts to players as they move turtle pieces on the board.
Created for players ages 3 to 8, the game was designed for parents to play alongside their children. The kids get to "boss around" their parents, telling them how to move their turtle characters through a maze, using simple programming commands.
According to Shapiro, "I made Robot Turtles so that my kids could learn programming basics without needing a computer. In fact, they don't even need to be able to read."
