Man dies after accidental shooting during FaceTime call
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. -- Police say a Florida man died after accidentally shooting himself Tuesday while cleaning a gun during a video call.
According to WSVN, 43-year-old Josmel Herrera was on a FaceTime call with a relative when the gun went off, hitting him in the chest. Police say Herrera was trying to demonstrate the proper way to clean a gun.
Neighbors described hearing a loud bang from Herrera's home at about 7:30 p.m., but initially thought it was a car crash.
Medics took Herrera to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police say they're still investigating the shooting.
