Man struck, critically injured by hit-and-run driver in Renton

RENTON -- A man crossing the street in the 200 block of Rainier Avenue South in Renton was struck and  critically injured by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night, police said.

The victim was about 35 to 45 years of age, police said, and he suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center.

Police said he had been crossing the street in the middle of the block when he was hit. Witnesses called 911 at 8 p.m. to report the accident.

The suspect vehicle, a white Dodge Caravan, should have damage to the right front and to the windshield, police said.
