Stoup Brewing cements Ballard as region's brew mecca
SEATTLE – Ballard is cementing its reputation as the region’s premier destination for beer lovers with yet another brewery.
Stoup Brewing officially opened the doors of their operation at 1108 NW 52nd St. on Wednesday.
Offering an IPA, ISA and a porter, Stoup founders say they have three more ales in the works, including a Northwest Red, Hefeweizen and a Pilsner.
With a scientist for a co-founder, brewery fixtures take on a chemistry lab feel right down to the beaker-style glassware.
And if that wasn’t cool enough, a lifetime membership in the Stoup’s founders club will earn you the title of Stouperstar with benefits like a custom Imperial Pint glass, a unique steel ID card that doubles as bottle opener, and 10% off growler fills.
Stoup’s taproom is open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday. They welcome visitors starting at noon on the weekends.
According to MyBallard.com, Stoup is the 9th brewery to set up in the neighborhood, sandwiched between Populuxe Brewing and Reuben’s Brews. Check out their interactive brewery map here.
