Man on business call surprised by seal visit in Tacoma, WA waters

Todd Silver says on the morning of Feb. 6, a seal visited him in the Thea Foss Waterway in Commencement Bay. He says the encounter was unlike anything he's seen since he took up the sport in 1995.

The backstory:

Silver was in his single-person racing shell and took a business call when he felt something bump his boat. Turns out the bump was this little seal.

After 30 years of rowing he says he's had a few encounters with wildlife but nothing like this encounter on Thursday.

He said that he had a 10-minute relationship with the little guy and even gave him a little belly rub with his oar before he took off!
