Monday is expected to get to 90 degrees and temperatures drop to the 70s by Wednesday. Thursday looks warm, sunny and absolutely gorgeous. Friday and Saturday may start gray and cloudy, but sunshine should reappear in the afternoons.

Wildfire officials say Washington is experiencing its worst fire activity of 2022, as crews work to get multiple wildfires under control on the eastern side of the state.

An upper ridge taking hold of our region combined with a thermal trough and north winds are the reason for our heat this weekend. The ridge will start to break down as low level onshore flow returns late Tuesday into Wednesday.

Our mini heat wave gets going Sunday into Monday with cooler air starting Tuesday. As highs drop we'll also bring back a chance for light showers with the threat of thunderstorms too.

The heat is on! If you don't have air-conditioning at home, get ready for bad sleeping weather the next few nights. We also have a medium risk for heat-related illnesses.

'Some guys lost a lot:' Lind Fire contained, leaves path of destruction behind

The Lind Fire is now 100% contained, according to the fire chief, but the fast-moving fire left a path of destruction as it tore through the south side of Lind.

Lind wildfire: Evacuation orders lifted, fire contained

According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, all Lind residents were ordered to evacuate the town (Level 3 - go now) and go to the Ritzville Grade School about 17 miles away. As of 10 p.m., those evacuation orders were lifted and everyone was cleared to return home.
