Seattle weather: Overall drier conditions on Friday
We will see mostly cloudy skies Friday with overall drier conditions. We will see a few scattered showers in the evening with highs again in the mid 50s.
Today in Seattle, we’re forecasting cloudy skies, mild temperatures and isolated to scattered showers. At times, the rain could be locally heavy. Driving could be tricky where these downpours develop. By around 7-8 tonight, most of the rain will track into Canada, leaving Western Washington drier.
Highs this afternoon will be mild - about ten degrees above average in the Seattle area.

Tomorrow and Sunday will feature rounds of rain. It could be gusty for the Cascade gap communities early Saturday, but right now – we don’t expect winds to be damaging. Stick with us for any updates!
Winds on Sunday will primarily affect the coast and even then, gusts don’t look major. There will be other windy moments for the rest of the week, though the details on the strength and timing still have to be refined.
In terms of mountain snow, there could be wintry weather Sunday through Tuesday over Stevens and White Passes. However, it’ll take longer for the cooler air to arrive along Snoqualmie Pass. By Christmas and into the following days, precipitation could start falling in the form of snow for Snoqualmie Pass. Keep in mind: mountain snow forecasting is challenging and is subject to change as well.

With the parade of weather systems and steady rain on a regular basis, river flooding and landslides could develop by the middle to end of next week. Along with snow over the passes, the lowland rain could create spotty travel issues by the end of the seven day forecast.

In the short-term, a Flood Warning remains in effect for the Skokomish River in Mason County.
Over the South Washington Coast, a High Surf Advisory is posted from tomorrow through Monday for large, breaking waves of 25 to 30 feet.
