Seattle weather: Sunny weather returns with plummeting temperatures

SEATTLE - We're tracking a big cooldown ahead for Seattle and western Washington this upcoming workweek. For Super Bowl Sunday, we're forecasting mostly dry and cool conditions.

Morning clouds will give way to late afternoon sunbreaks Sunday in Seattle. The clouds will clear from the north to the south tonight. While we can't rule out a light shower today, this would be the exception rather than the rule.
Temperatures on Sunday afternoon will reach the upper 30s to low 40s in the Seattle area. (FOX 13 Seattle)
Over the next several days, we're forecasting dry, cold and sunny weather. Overnight lows will flirt with records for the coldest low temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday.
These frigid temperatures will be dangerous for those who are unhoused or don't have adequate access to heating. We'll be monitoring the situation closely. Here are resources for warming shelters.

Partly to mostly sunny skies are ahead for Seattle on Thursday. On Valentine's Day, there's a slight chance for a spotty rain/snow mix. Right now, there's uncertainty about how Friday's forecast may play out.
Currently, it seems like the showers would be light and isolated, but there's plenty of time for the forecast to flip-flop in the coming days: it could end up being wetter or drier than we expect right now.
