1 killed in Interbay crash

Seattle police are investigating a crash that killed one person early Friday morning in the Interbay neighborhood.

The crash happened near 15th Avenue West and West Garfield Street at about 2:30 a.m.

Investigators said a driver in an SUV had a medical emergency, struck and knocked down a power pole and crashed into a fence.

Medics attempted life-saving measures but the 34-year-old driver died at the scene, police said.

The King County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

A front seat passenger was the other occupant in the car. She had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
