17-year-old boy shot, killed; police investigating

BURLINGTON -- Officers are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Monday night at a trailer park in Burlington, police said.

Police received a report of gunshots around 8:30 p.m. at the Maiben Park trailer park located in the 200 block of S. Regent Street in Burlington. Officers arrived on scene, and used a K-9 to track parties allegedly involved in the shooting. However, no one was found.

A short time later, a shooting victim arrived at United General Hospital in Sedro-Wooley. The boy was pronounced dead a short time late, and police have reason to believe he was shot at the trailer park.

A number of shell casings was found at the trailer park, but police are unsure what lead to gunshots.
