19-year-old driver arrested for vehicular assault, possible DUI after car hits 66-year-old bicyclist

PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Police said a 19-year-old driver was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and possible DUI Monday after her car struck a 66-year-old bicyclist and then rammed into a fence and building on 9th Avenue SW.

The victim was taken to the hospital. His condition was not immediately known, although a police tweet called it a serious injury accident.

Police said the woman's car was southbound on 4th Street SW and struck the man on his bicycle at the intersection at 9th Avenue SW.

No other details were immediately available.
