24-year-old Kenmore woman turns herself into police over fatal hit-and-run
KENMORE -- A 24-year-old Kenmore woman turned herself into police Monday for a fatal hit-and-run earlier in the day that left a 31-year-old man dead, the King County Sheriff's Office announced.
At about 1: 30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the 18400 block of 62nd Avenue NE after a woman walking her dog reported seeing the body of man on the side of the road.
Police said the trauma to the man's body was consistent with being hit by a vehicle. Detectives also found debris at the scene that included part of a headlight that they believe came from a 2003-2004 Ford F150. Police said the headlight came from the front passenger side of the truck.
Police on Monday afternoon found a truck fitting that description and had it towed away, and a 24-year-old woman turned herself into police for the incident, sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West said.
The victim was identified as Joseph D. "J.D." Humphreys, 31, of Kenmore.
The driver was not immediately identified
