SHORELINE, Wash. – All this week, “Q13 News This Morning” is highlighting the stories of Muslim Americans working to make our communities – and our country – a better, safer place.

Inspired by his grandfather and father, Khalid Lites knew he, too, would serve our nation in the U.S. Army.

“My father was a great soldier, but he was also a good Muslim,” Lites said. “I saw him helping out a lot of other soldiers from all walks of life. I knew I wanted to help people and I wanted to give back.”
