54-year-old charged with voyeurism for allegedly using ladder to peep at neighbor in shower

TACOMA -- A 54-year-old Pierce County man was charged with voyeurism Friday for allegedly using a ladder to climb up to the second-floor bathroom window of his neighbor's house and to peer in while the woman was taking a shower.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred Thursday in the South Hill/Puyallup area.

According to the sheriff's office, the woman was showering when her husband noticed someone looking into their bathroom window. He went outside and saw it was the defendant Eli Junior Eli, his neighbor.

After initially denying he had done anything wrong, the sheriff's office said, Eli "admitted he used a ladder to climb up to the second-floor bathroom window to peep at ... (the victim) while she showered.

"He said he tried to see her naked because she is attractive. He apologized numerous times and said he used his own ladder which he tossed near a neighbor’s driveway as he ran from the scene," the sheriff's office said.
