6th man hurt in dam explosion moved to Harborview
SEATTLE (AP) — Officials say the sixth man injured in an explosion at a hydroelectric dam on Washington's Columbia River has arrived at a Seattle hospital for burn treatment.
Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg said in a statement Tuesday the hospital is now treating four men hurt in the Thursday explosion, including the man who arrived Wednesday evening. Gregg says he is in satisfactory condition.
Two men remain in intensive care at the hospital, one in critical, and one in serious condition. Another man is also in satisfactory condition.
Two other workers have been treated at Harborview and released.
Grant Public Utility District officials say an electrical explosion at Priest Rapids Dam caused their injuries and that the dam's structure was never compromised.
