7- to 10-car crash on I-5 makes morning commute a nightmare
SEATTLE - Traffic is moving again on northbound I-5 after all lanes were closed for about an hour Friday morning after a multi-vehicle car accident near Boeing Field.
The accident happened around 6:45 am and involved between seven to ten cars, including one that reportedly rolled over onto an embankment.
The passenger in that car, a 25-year old male, was unresponsive and had to be extricated from the car. He's been transported to Harborview in critical condition.
Authorities are reporting an additional nine patients as well who have less severe injuries.
Traffic officials recommend drivers take alternate routes this morning. The accident is also affected several Sound Transit bus routes.
