About 20 people displaced, one person injured in fire at mobile home park in SeaTac

SEATAC, Wash. -- About 20 people were displaced when a car fire spread to at least five mobile homes in SeaTac Friday night, a fire official said. One person was slightly injured.

Randy Droppert, the public information officer for Kent Fire, said it appeared that the fire in the 20400 block of International Boulevard started when a man came home from work, parked his work vehicle under a carport and then left in his private car.  The work vehicle apparently caught fire, Droppert said, and then spread to multiple mobile homes.

"Five units are uninhabitable," he said, and one or two other homes sustained damage but remained inhabitable. He said a total of about 20 people were displaced -- 10 adults and 10 children.

A woman was put on a stretcher and taken away. Droppert said it did not appear to be a significant injury. He said he heard that in the confusion, "she may have bumped her head."
