Accused killer of mother of five in Canada arrested riding bike in downtown Vancouver
FUGITIVE CAPTURED April 1, 2015 -- Daniel Paul was arrested by Vancouver Police on Wednesday after two officers spotted him riding his bike downtown. Officers say he initially denied who he was but was arrested without incident. The sister of murder victim, Rose Paul, told CBC News, "I can breathe now. It's been so emotional and scary. Every day has been emotional. Just memories of my sister everywhere. We don't have to be in fear anymore." Rose's uncle, Howard Paul, added "I'm extremely happy that they finally caught him after a month on the run." FUGITIVE WANTED IN CANADA March 19, 2015 -- Police worry the suspected killer of a mother of five may have crossed the border from Canada to head towards Seattle. Daniel Alphonse Paul,42, is suspected of killing 36-year-old Rose Paul after her body was found March 2 in the basement of her Vancouver, BC home. Paul is the mother of five daughters, ranging in age from 8 to 19, Vancouver police said. According to police, Daniel Paul is of aboriginal (native) descent, 5'8" tall with a medium build. He has brown eyes and short black hair, police said. On his left arm, he has tattoos of an eagle, a rat, a knife, a skull and a buffalo. On his right arm, he has tattoos of a skull with a rose and a heart. Rose's family members told police they believe Daniel Paul is extremely dangerous.
"He needs to be taken off the streets before he hurts or kills another woman," Rose's uncle Howard Paul said. "Rosie loved and trusted this man. He was supposed to protect her, but instead took her life." Police believe Daniel Paul may have crossed the Canadian border into Washington state. The Vancouver Police Board is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. “Daniel Paul remains on the run after numerous pleas by the police to have him turn himself in,” says VPD spokesperson Sergeant Randy Fincham.
