Alleged peeper reportedly scales college apartment building

SEATTLE -- Police arrested a suspected peeper early Monday morning after he scaled the wall an apartment building and was spotted outside a woman's third-floor bedroom, the Seattle Police reported.

A woman called police and Seattle University Campus Security at 3:30 a.m. when she spotted a man standing on the balcony of her third-floor apartment near the intersection of 12th Avenue and East Cherry Street. The woman allegedly asked the man what he was doing, and he responded he was looking for someone.

Police arrived on the scene but the man refused to come down from the balcony. Officers used a Seattle Fire Department ladder truck to climb up to the man and take him into custody.

The man allegedly told police that some "party poopers" told him to climb the building and fondle himself. Other witnesses said he was spotted outside the apartment building hours before the police call, allegedly pacing back and forth in a nervous manner.

The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of voyeurism. Police are investigating the incident.
