Attempted child abductions put parents on alert
SEATTLE -- A pair of attempted child abductions has parents on edge around the Northwest.
Police in Lacey are still looking for a suspect who tried to snatch a 10-year-old girl in front of her driveway. Witnesses said the man drove up, got out, and tried to grab her and pull her to his car. The girl fought back and the suspect took off. He's described as a younger Hispanic man, 5-feet, 8-inches tall with a skinny build and a buzz cut, driving an older, beat-up, dark green Honda type of vehicle.
Also on Monday in Shoreline, a stranger approached a Shorewood High School student on her way to school on Aurora Avenue and tried to grab her and pull her into his vehicle. She screamed and got away. The suspect is described as a white male, late 50s to early 60s, 6-feet, 3-inches, is balding with white hair and weighs about 210 pounds.
