Ballard asks for faster response from SPD
SEATTLE – The Ballard District Council is asking city officials to boost police presence in their neighborhood.
In a letter sent to city hall, the council said slow responses from Seattle Police during emergencies situations are unreasonably compromising life-threatening incidents.
The letter cites several examples of the slow response times. In one example, the letter said it took police an hour to respond to numerous 911 calls when a man tried to grab two kids at the Salmon Bay Park. The suspect had left the park by the time officers arrived.
