Bellevue family and 3 dogs escape house fire

BELLEVUE - A family of five and their three dogs, are lucky to be safe after an early morning house fire destroyed their Bellevue home. Bellevue Fire Department said that everyone got out safely despite the fact that the home lacked a working smoke detector.

Firefighters responded to fire around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Lt Rich Burke told Q13 Fox News. When fire crews arrived they found the single family home fully engulfed in flames. The home is located in the 600 block of 155th Ave SE in Bellevue.

Burke said that the one of the residents spotted the fire in the living room and got everyone out.  The cause of the fire and the damage to the home and contents is under investigation.
